List of Toxic Plants for Dogs

Dozens of studies have already revealed that there are more than a thousand plants that can be toxic to pets and, if swallowed, can cause from less disturbing reactions such as nausea or transient diarrhea, fatal cases that cost them their lives. This list presents some of the most common toxic plants for pets or animals and in poisonous species for dogs, but it is always important to know if the specific breed of your animal has any vulnerability in regard to a particular plant.

That's why we have to be vigilant and prevent our beloved pets from getting sick or dying from ingesting plants or foods unknown to us, remember that we always have to be informed and interested about this type of plants that we will describe next. Some known and others not so much:

  • Abioto: wild flower with high toxicity to all parts of them, but especially the roots.
  • Bastard wattle: a tree whose bark and / or external roots can be fatal to a pet.
  • Saffron-the-meadow: highly toxic Garden flower, regardless of the part of the plant is ingested by a pet.

  • Black cherry: a tree whose leaves and seeds of the fruit should not be eaten by pets.
  • Conium: highly poisonous, this plant has field in the leaves, stems and fruits, its main source of danger.
  • Consolida: a wildflower that is particularly harmful as a young man.
